Born and raised in Queensland, I completed my formal qualifications in Industrial Design at QUT, graduating with distinction in 2002. Industrial Design sparked my passion for CAD/CAM and instilled in me a love of design thinking and problem-solving.

In 2003, I decided to go globe-trotting and based myself in London. While this meant putting my design aspirations on hold, the experience of travelling and exploring the world in my 20s was life-shaping. To fund it, I worked full-time in IT sales for a London-based reseller. What started as a job soon became a career foundation—teaching me customer service, account management, and how to deliver on an international stage.

As I approached my 30s, I decided it was time to return home to Queensland and restart my career, focusing on both sales and CAD/CAM. My love for design hadn’t faded—in fact, it had deepened through my global experiences—but I knew I needed to find a balance between my design roots and the commercial world I had come to thrive in.

In 2010, I joined Sirona, working with Sirona’s CEREC system—Bluecam, MCXL, and Vita Furnace. Six years passed quickly as the company evolved, and so did my career. I took on the challenge of Straumann’s early in practice CAD/CAM system, which was a bit early for them, and it led me back to the CEREC world, just as adoption was accelerating like never before. Another five years flew by, building strong relationships and contributing to incredible growth.

During this period, my wife and I built a home, started a business, invested in people and ventures we believed in, and welcomed two amazing kids into our lives.

During COVID, I transitioned into a state leadership role and further delivered strong growth with an incredible team. Soon after COVID, the world shifted again, as it did for so many people. I had been watching a startup form during COVID, a dental education delivery method I deeply believe in with brilliant people driving it—so I leapt, leaving behind the corporate safety net. I spent three years in the startup space, which I can only describe as a whirlwind. Startup life is like dog years—one year feels like seven—and it challenged me, stretched me, and taught me more than I could have imagined. I recommend the experience to all with an entrepreneurial flair. I loved it and will always remember those years and learnings fondly. Ripe Global continues to grow and thrive and is now making big headway in the USA.

Now, I’m stepping back into Chairside as a new reseller of 5xDental, applying everything I’ve learned along the way. CAD/CAM and design have always been my passion.  Restorative digital dentistry—now supercharged with AI integration—offers an incredible future. It’s a grass-roots, ground-up build, so we have a blank canvas as to what the future looks like, but I am excited to partner with Ray Dental and other key manufacturers to deliver a chairside solutions with excellent ROI’s and incredible clinical outcomes.
